What Guests Are Saying
Green Ridge campground offers stunning views and a tranquil atmosphere, with clean facilities, helpful camp hosts, and great access to Shadow Mountain Lake and nearby trails. While some sites are close together, leading to a lack of privacy, and issues with tree trimming and parking have been noted, the overall experience remains positive. Campers appreciate the well-maintained bathrooms, though some flush toilets were out of service during certain stays, and many guests express a desire to return for the beautiful surroundings and recreational opportunities.

I’m not down side is the main road to the water is visible from camp site so got cars driving by all the time. Spacious and beautiful star gazing. Very clean and close to the water and trails.

Roads are so narrow and spots are questionable on what size unit fits in them. Been going here for over 50 years.

This is a pretty private spot. You are at the main entrance so it can be noisy at time, especially people without reservations driving around and around for a spot. We love staying at Green Ridge and camp at least twice a year.

Loop A, site 4. Very nice campground. No lake view from our campsite but very close to the water, which was great. Facilities were clean. Definitely recommend.

My family has been camping here on a regular basis for over 15 years. A lot has changed over time, and not all in good ways. This is a beautiful campground but it does see a lot of use. The dump station has been out of commission for several years now. This year, the plumbed bathroom on Loop A was not functional, and they were port-a-potties instead. The vault toilets are heavily used and not always clean. The plumbed restrooms (when operational) do not have hand soap dispensers in them. The potable water had a somewhat concerning yellow cast. There can be ticks in the low growth along the paths (keep an eye on dogs if they roam there). Access to the reservoir and nearby trails is great, and the campsites themselves are generally spacious and have relatively good separation between them, giving some sense of privacy. Unfortunately, the campground felt really crowded this time around, and we had neighbors across from us that were pretty intrusive and allowed their children and a small unpleasant dog to wander into our campsite unattended (dog off-leash) multiple times a day. We also had a small multi-tool stolen from our campsite. So this wasn't the best, this time around. Hopefully it will be better next year and the bathroom will be fixed.

This was such a beautiful campground surrounded by mountains. The views were amazing and the campground was easy to get in to and find our site. This is one we would go back to again.

The dump station at the campground is still not operational, it's been several years since it's been available. The barricades were taken down but there is no water to the dump station. Why does this remain closed?
The flush toilets were not available during our stay which was very inconvenient especially for the small children that were not fans of the pit toilets!

We rserved a site from Monday to Thursday -- it was great . By Friday every site was taken and the place was very noisy . Enjoyed the stay during the week - kayaked Shadow Mtn & Grand Lake, hiked the east sure trail . All good until the weekend .

Location is excellent. Nice lake frontage just behind our spot and a multi trailhead at the end of the campsite. However, we expected flush toilets (via online description) but the flush toilet facilities were not working and the porta potties were SO full. They were in very serious need of being emptied. Gross. (I’m a camper and not grossed out easily). Loop B had working toilets so we walked all the way down to those. If you make a reservation, make sure you’re on loop B. Not loop A.
