The place is very nice and calm.I would totally go back there...
Sites 45 and 46 don't really have shade so you get fried during the summer. Small trees are growing so in a few years that shouldn't be a problem anymore.

We had a great time at this campground. The campsite was very nicely sized and enough foliage for a little shade. The vault bathroom was one of the cleanest I’ve seen at a campsite.

Excellent dry camping experience. Nederland cell site is just over the ridge - so probably 2-3 bars of 4G service at least - T-Mobile, AT&T - not sure about Verizon. There looks to be 3 sets of panel-antennas at the site (3 companies). Clean vaulted toilets. Pleasant Host. Easy to town, easy to find. Beautiful area. We camped in our 5th Wheel, our friends in their pop-up trailer. We'll be back!

We were at site 39. On the map, it looks fairly isolated and far away from the neighboring sites. In reality, the fire pits between 38 and 39 are about 10-15 feet apart. We were a little shocked when we arrived. Thankfully our neighbors didn't arrive the first night, but they did show up the next day and it was just...awkward. I've never seen two neighboring sites set up that way – great if it's for two groups that know each other, but otherwise not ideal at all. There was also a loud group of young people playing music and an all-day game of beer pong that went late into the evening. The camp host is located further away at the other circle, so it felt like there could have been better oversight. The surrounding area is wonderful, but sadly we probably won't stay here again.

2 problems with the experience:
1) Campsites were close together and the areas where you are supposed to place your tent are way too close to adjacent campsites.
2) Firewood was ridiculously expensive. $9 for a small bundle of pine was a rip off.

Very nice campground. Our Site was #30 which is right next to a playground. So a perfect site if you visit with kids. Water was available.

Beautiful campground with lots of hiking nearby, including two paths right from the loop with reserved sites. The loop that is first come is just as nice.
