It was windy while we were there. No shelters at our campsite. We wanted to kayak, but unable to find location to launch kayaks. But water was too choppy anyway. Restrooms are clean, and host family was very nice and helpful. The views of the lake and mountains were awesome. We enjoyed our stay there.

Nice campground w/view of lake. When setting up at first campsite (36) electric pedestal kept tripping off. Camp host helped us find another spot. Site pedestal worked sporadically so it was still reservable. Evidently a new pedestal was on order. They did close that site until repairs could be made. Glad to have attentive camp host.

Spectacular view from our site. Power and water at our site with dump station at the exit. Been there several times. Keep going back and will continue to do so.

This campsite has great basic facilities and an unbeatable view. The pads are well maintained and every camp host we've interacted with has been awesome. Beware of the weather, in typical mountain fashion it can swing wildly from sunny and hot to hail storm in the blink of an eye. There is plenty of beach for your own private space, though they are rocky. Tree cover is basically nonexistent so you don't get much privacy from your neighbors and a sun shade is good idea. Granby and Grand Lake are relatively close for day trips or supplies but you'll need a vehicle and an hour or two out of your day minimum.

We really like this campground. The views from some of the electric sites are wonderful. We miss it from it's old form (packed with trees!) but understand the need to cut them out because of the beetle kill. As we drove through part of the East Troublesome burn scar, it makes me wonder if the campground would have been lost if not for the clear cutting!

The park was LOVELY, with a gorgeous view of the lake and surrounding mountains. My only warning would be that you need to be aware that the campground is OUTSIDE the park, so you still need timed entry permit for the park. For other National Parks, when you book, I think you automatically have access to the park. It's on the west side of the park, an easy drive to Grand Lake, a beautiful little town with nice shops and restaurants.
