When I got there, another camper had my camp site, even though my name and 'reserved' was on the pole. There was a host near by and I stopped her and told her the situation. She said she would try to figure out something and found me no more than 10 minutes later and let me have another 'host' site. She was very, very nice and said to let her know if I needed anything. The weekend turned out great! I was able to back into the site and had a wonderful view. I stopped another host the following day and asked if there are any trails close by. She directed me to the office and the gentleman in there suggested a couple of trails close by. I was able to hike 7 miles and got back before the wind came up. It is a beautiful campground. This was only my second time with my new camper and my first time solo. Thank you for the great experience and beautiful pictures that I shared on Facebook and put in my scrapbook.

The location is near grand lake entrance to Rocky Mountains and the view from stillwater is beautiful. If you reserve at stillwater stay near the water as the view is way better. Please double check if showers are open per our visit they were not operational.

The location was beautiful. And, the campsite was nice. However, some of the amenities were not as advertised. First, the showers were out of order and did not work. Toilet paper was not stocked in the men’s restroom. Additionally, they cut off the water the second night of our two nights there. This meant not toilets but two pit toilets for the entire campground. For my wife, I had selected the campground for the amenities to make sure she was comfortable camping. If it was going to be, basically, an undeveloped campground it should be advertised as such or the people running it should have their contract terminated.

We simply could not have had a better time than we did at Stillwater. The location is just fabulous - we kayaked each day and drove the short distance to Monarch lake for a beautiful hike. The camp hosts were very nice and one of the bathrooms was very clean (the other had one of the toilets out of order). We will def. return.

I had a great experience. I learned a lot. I will try to apply what I learned to my next experience.

The sites are super short. Most a packed right next to each other. It sucks to hang out with a bunch of people, with the entire idea of getting away to camp with some reasonable separation from other campers. Not this place.
