What Guests Are Saying
West Chicago Creek campground is a quiet and well-maintained site with clean bathrooms, friendly hosts, and beautiful surroundings, including easy access to hiking trails and a lovely creek. While there is no water on-site, it is conveniently located near Idaho Springs for supplies. Some sites are closer together and may require careful arrangement, but overall, visitors enjoy the peaceful experience and scenic atmosphere.

My entire vacation was completely ruined. I traveled from California to Colorado only to find the site I booked two months in advance was double booked. Someone was already camping there. Of course, there was no camp host anywhere to be found. There were no other camp sites available. It was a completely horrible experience.
I had 2 twelve year old kids with me. This was supposed to be part of their birthday present. This will make a memorable experience for them for sure,
I did get the money I paid for the reservation back. So what!!!
Thank you for nothing! Worst experience I’ve had with a reservation.

This is a small campground with beautiful views. The creek runs along the back and is the perfect white noise. Plus, there are bathrooms. Would definitely come back.

It was a great experience. I like the area because there was a fire pit, restroom, dumpster, bench, reservation request online, parking space and a place to set up your tent.
Enjoy your stay.

The bathrooms were completely out of toilet paper. It’s lucky we brought a roll of toilet paper along or it would have necessitated an emergency trip to town to get some. They were completely out of envelopes to pay for first come first served sites or to pay for an extra vehicle. But the worst part, my RESERVED campsite was not marked in any way, and thus had been claimed by another first come first served camper. It could have been a disaster had they set up camp fully and then we had arrived later on in the evening to find our site occupied. As it is, they were dismayed that we had set up camp in the spot that they thought they had claimed and paid for. Luckily I was able to show them my email receipt AND there was a different vacant site nearby.
