What Guests Are Saying
West Chicago Creek campground is a quiet and well-maintained site with clean bathrooms, friendly hosts, and beautiful surroundings, including easy access to hiking trails and a lovely creek. While there is no water on-site, it is conveniently located near Idaho Springs for supplies. Some sites are closer together and may require careful arrangement, but overall, visitors enjoy the peaceful experience and scenic atmosphere.

West Chicago Creek campground is beautiful and close to trails. There is one huge drawback in that the sites are extremely close together. We have a Jayco Feather light travel trailer which is small by trailer standards, and there is a popout canvas tent for sleeping on one side. The adjacent site to ours was so close in proximity that it didn't allow room for another vehicle with our popout. As such, we were given the ultimatum of either closing the popout, i.e., our bed, or paying for the adjacent site. We spent one night miserable on the floor of our trailer, then paid for the adjacent site on the second night. We would not have stayed at all had we been informed in advance of this limitation, and felt it was unfair that we were charged the extra fee. This review specifically applies to site 15 (and 16), but other sites were also very close in proximity.

Roger was a excellent host and very accommodating.
The camp ground is a great stop and absolutely recommend the hiking trails at the end of the parking lot.
