What Guests Are Saying
Pinon Flats Campground is well-regarded for its friendly camp host, Nancy, and beautifully maintained facilities, including clean restrooms and stunning views of the sand dunes. The campground offers a peaceful atmosphere, ample tree cover, and easy access to hiking trails. However, some sites are small and not fully accessible for individuals with mobility challenges, and issues with noise from other campers have been noted. Overall, it is a memorable camping experience with great amenities.

The setting was beautiful but the mosquitoes were large and vicious. We stayed in loop A one night and loop B the second night. In both areas there were campers that didn't follow the quiet hours. I'm glad we stayed there but I wouldn't stay there again.

We enjoyed the grounds and our site very much. Although we only drove our loop of sites, most, if not all, seemed pretty well sized and spaced. Restrooms were convenient and very clean. The camp store had all of the basics and added to the kooky vibe. And we appreciated the camp hosts, one of whom proactively reminded a neighbor about the generator hours.

We loved the campground. It was great to hike right from our campsite on the Dunes Overlook Trail and also hike to the dunes from our campsite.

Enjoyed our stay. Beautiful country! Due to federal program cuts, the park is understaffed and needs more rangers and service workers.

It’s an excellent campground except for the mosquitoes.

Excellent view of the dunes from this site and close to the restrooms as well. Sand sledding was fun, make sure you bring plenty of water with you as there is lots of walking. Phone service was sporadic with AT&T, but that wasn't a bad thing while on vacation.

We loved our campsite here and the host was extremely helpful and kind. She had coffee ready in the morning and even delivered wood to our campsite as we pulled in just as she was getting ready to head out for the day. The star gazing was incredible here and the bathrooms were extremely clean.

Awesome campground. The dunes are simply amazing. Campground has lots of trees. Most site have some shade but not all. Good bathrooms with flush toilets, and sinks. Overall the campground sites are small. We had a 25' Trailer and truck and had a hard time getting them both fit within our parking area. Double check the site size requirements with the equipment you have. Big long trailers/RV's will not fit.
