What Guests Are Saying
Pinon Flats Campground is well-regarded for its friendly camp host, Nancy, and beautifully maintained facilities, including clean restrooms and stunning views of the sand dunes. The campground offers a peaceful atmosphere, ample tree cover, and easy access to hiking trails. However, some sites are small and not fully accessible for individuals with mobility challenges, and issues with noise from other campers have been noted. Overall, it is a memorable camping experience with great amenities.

Sites are very close to each other so there is little privacy to be had. However, the entire camp ground is well kept, the bathrooms were very clean the entire time and the camp hosts are very friendly.

The campground was quiet and clean. Our site was level and shaded. The mosquitos were really bad during the last of June so plan accordingly.

We had a great time there. Our neighbors were respectful, the trails were great and the bathrooms were so clean. Can't beat the price!

The site was excellent, toilets and sinks were clean. The mosquitos were unbearable. We had spray, citronella, bug zappers but you could not sit outside.

5 star views of the sand dunes! Site needs Maintenance. Fire pit is full of ashes, no where for fire to breathe.

Noisy is the best one-word summary. Clean comes in a close second. The campground overall and the bathrooms were impressively clean, we were shocked how nice the bathrooms were. The only housekeeping we had to do was remove rocks from the tent pad. The noise was a whole other issue - you can hear everything at this campground. The campsites are extremely close to each other. It doesn't help that quiet hours are not enforced. We had drunk rowdy neighbors cussing on one side and an aggressive couple who showed up at 11pm get into a camper-backing-up dispute for an hour on the other side. The campground is very exposed, only some sites have shade - should have brought a shade tent. I would return here though, if I had a soundproof camper.

Quiet and clean campground. Site had a nice view of the dunes, and some shade, which seemed rare. Tight fit between the trees. Bug spray is a must!

Such a beautiful and peaceful place. We reserved site 32 (loop 1) which provided easy access to the dunes and had incredible views. Some deer walked right through our campsite at one point! We booked the site about 5 months in advance as it's so popular. We stayed in April and got lucky with weather (no snow, just a little rain, not too cold). Seems like a very family-friendly place as kids were safely riding their bikes around the loop.
Cleanest bathrooms I've ever seen at a campground!!

Very pretty site! Kids enjoyed hanging out in their hammocks and was with. Walking distance of the dunes. We stayed in site 80 and our 25’ trailer and expedition fit just fine. Site is a bit sloped so we weren’t quite level but we also didn’t unhitch.
