What Guests Are Saying
Pinon Flats Campground is well-regarded for its friendly camp host, Nancy, and beautifully maintained facilities, including clean restrooms and stunning views of the sand dunes. The campground offers a peaceful atmosphere, ample tree cover, and easy access to hiking trails. However, some sites are small and not fully accessible for individuals with mobility challenges, and issues with noise from other campers have been noted. Overall, it is a memorable camping experience with great amenities.

We loved our sites for 3 nites, loved our view of the dunes, appreciated the clean bathrooms so much.
But the mosquitoes were unbelievable and made 8 people & 2 dogs very cranky and bit up. We all used up 3 cans of spray and it didn’t touch the mosquitoes.

No showers, so you get sandy!!!! Otherwise great facilities. Tons of mosquitos in July, especially around sunset, but worth it!

The views are unmatched here. Access to the creek and the dunes is an easy hike or a short drive. It's great having the pumps for drinking water (so it doesn't have to taste like warm plastic from trucking it from home). The dishwashing sinks at the bathrooms are clutch!

Loop roads are narrow, and some sites have sharp parking angles. Be courteous and move vehicles as far off the road as possible.

We had a pretty good trip considering a few things we were dealing with. The views were amazing, the campground was very neat and nice and the bathrooms were spotless, clean and new. The host and the gentleman at the camp store were very friendly and courteous. Noise and exposure were the biggest problems here. Campsites are extremely close to each other, no privacy at all. The campground was very loud - after 7pm. I'd say this is probably due to inconsiderate people and alcohol, or both. Both nights there were multiple parties being loud hours after the supposed curfew. All could have been avoided if the curfew was actually enforced. Sun/weather exposure here is very high, there is little shade, some sites have no shade at all. Be prepared.

The bathrooms were clean and great with running water and soap and everything. Our site, 13, had excellent shade and some protection from the wind. There were a lot of bugs, so come prepared.

Beautiful spot, trail to the dunes is right there. Each spot looked like it had shaded area which was great. This spot had awesome shade. Was right across from the bathrooms, which did have a small light on all night. About 3 steps up to the spot Bring bug spray!!
