What Guests Are Saying
Pinon Flats Campground is well-regarded for its friendly camp host, Nancy, and beautifully maintained facilities, including clean restrooms and stunning views of the sand dunes. The campground offers a peaceful atmosphere, ample tree cover, and easy access to hiking trails. However, some sites are small and not fully accessible for individuals with mobility challenges, and issues with noise from other campers have been noted. Overall, it is a memorable camping experience with great amenities.

Great campsite, appreciated the camp store open in the evenings, the firewood/kindling and snacks for sale, campsite was clean, bathrooms were clean (soap would've been nice), appreciated the potable water right by the bathrooms.

Campsites and bathrooms are kept in immaculate condition. New visitor center displays are well done. Picnic areas in the aspens were a colorful delight to use on our check out day to extend our time in the park.

We visit annually and are always impressed with cleanliness of the facilities. There are never any loud parties!

The campground was very nice. The campsites are on the smaller size, so it may be a problem for bigger rigs.

Great spot with a great view of the dunes. Minimal shade, great spot if you depend on solar. Spot is at a pretty extreme grade to the point that we were unable to completely level our 23 foot trailer (tho we got close!) Note that there are no hot showers in the park. There are some spots to rinse off the sand.

Visit the dunes in the spring or fall when the days are cooler. Most campers stay only one or two nights. There are no showers, but the Oasis Lodge outside the park does. Maintenance in the park is very good, and the camp store is handy. It can be unpleasant if there are winds in excess of 20 MPH.

We had a nice spot with a great view and adequate space for our three tents. Our few complaints are the rude a-holes that showed up at 4:45 and set their car alarm off, along with the “spacing” between sites - it’s very tight. So we probably won’t be back to this campground again.

Great location and campsite! They have a bear vault at each site which is super helpful. However, be aware that the sites are super close to each other. Maybe it feels closer since there's not a lot of tree cover. But we had nice neighbors, so it wasn't a terrible experience at all.

{"text"=>"Loved the beauty and remoteness of this campground! The view of the sand dunes and mountain range from the campsite was spectacular!Although there were no showers, the bathrooms seemed brand new and were immaculate! Hiking trails were very accessible and host/hostess were responsive and helpful. We will definitely return to this beautiful place!", "languageCode"=>"en"}
