Really like the tent-only camping area. Great proximity to the lake and the facility is well maintained. We will be back again soon.

Beautiful area! Loved all the green trees, clean air, beautiful mountains, and lake! Did regret not taking our bikes. The biking trails were great for walking on too but I so wanted to be able to bike all the way around the reservoir. The bikers were for the most part polite and shared the trails but some were not so watch out!
The Heaton Bay campground was nice and clean but there is limited access to drinking water. During our stay, we stayed in two different tent camping sites. We had to carry water into our first camping site from several sites away and drive to get it for the other site. Beware of the T-loop. They are the ones that do not have drinking water!
The mosquitos were REALLY bad! Don't forget to bring good bug repellent! Otherwise, it was a beautiful and well-needed vacation!

Entrance is hard to find- the sign is not seen from one side. No maps anywhere. Would have been nice if it was at lease posted to look at. ?? is there a dump STATION??
?? trail/biking maps ?? OK place, but for someone out of area, and limited phone service, not easy to use.

Great campsite with abundant trees. The bike paths were excellent.
The massive infestation of mosquitoes made the experience near intolerable. Mosquitoes bit and swarmed us despite multiple head to toe applications of DEET.
