I rented a FF site. Someone else moved into my site on the second night. They didn’t return to the campsite until after 9p. Neither camp host responded to my knocking.

Heaton Bay Campground was great.The camp hosts were very helpful and friendly. Restrooms very clean. Due to the smoke from the surrounding fires and water levels drastically down in the reservoirs it wasn’t as pleasant as pass stays. No campfires and no grilling allowed.
We will come back in the future.

The sites on Loop C are full hook-up with plenty of space between sites. The bathrooms were very clean. We have stayed at Heaton Bay the last two years because we have quick access to the well-paved bike paths that take us to Breckenridge.

Our pull through site ( none electricity) was just for a one night stop over but my wife and I enjoyed the beautiful scenery of the camp ground. The higher elevation of Heaton Bay allowed us to open the windows and sleep very comfortably in the cool mountain air.

I love the fact that most of the campsites have trees for privacy and shade. The work done by the American Leisure group is fantastic, the fault toilets are the cleanest I have ever seen.

Heaton Bay was an awesome, central location for all of the great towns, trails, and scenery in the area!

Getting There
From I-70, take Frisco exit to 203. Turn left onto the Dillon Dam Road.
Travel northeast for 1 mi. The campground will be on the right hand side
of the road.
Highway access
Heaton Bay is accessible via I-70, with the Frisco exit leading to Dillon Dam Road, which is approximately 1 mile from the interstate.
