What Guests Are Saying
Peak One Campground boasts a fantastic location near trails, towns, and Lake Dillon, making it ideal for outdoor activities. The campground is clean, well-maintained, and offers good privacy between sites. However, there are ongoing issues with restroom facilities, as vault toilets remain closed and only porta-potties are available, which some guests found less than satisfactory.

This is a great facility and the views are wonderful. Access to the water and the bike trails is quite easy and access to the sites is convenient. We have camped here multiple times and we will return again. Thanks for a wonderful experience, Peak One!

Very nice campground, great location, amazing views, spacious sites. There were several noisy people and dogs but overall great experience.

I always have a great experience at Peak One, but I had a very tough time with the registration system. We needed a second night and were unable to reserve one online (understandably), so we went up early to try to grab a first come/first serve site. We did. So I tried to cancel the reservation I had for a previously reserved site (026) but the system would not let me cancel and, thus, I did not get a refund for the unused site. This was very frustrating. Again, I take no issue with the campground nor the hosts - who are always very welcoming and helpful.

Peak One has a great location along Lake Dillon and on the Frisco Peninsula which has many MTB trails for all abilities. The new downhill flow trail on the southside looks epic. Restrooms are clean.

I arrived at 2 p.m. for check in and was in my campspot until 8:30 the next morning when I drove to a nearby cove to paddleboard. I returned at noon and was there all afternoon. So at 6 p.m. when the camphost stopped by, I had been present in my campsite 24 1/2 of the 29 hours since I arrived. Yet the camphost said she gave away my campsite because she thought I never arrived!! Evidently (a) she is not doing regular rounds and (b) doesn't check reservation sheet as I was checking out the next day and there was no site to "give away".
She never apologized, just said I left the campsite too clean which is why she thought I hadn't checked in. There is no requirement to leave belongings at a campsite and when I did at Lake Pueblo State Park, they were stolen, so I now take them with me. Campground great; camphost not somuch.

Campers must occupy the site the first night at a campsite. This precents booking the site for Fri-Sun and showing up on a Saturday. |

Campers may leave the site for 24 hours and must occupy the site otherwise. This allows a camper to say go for an overnight backpack trip in the woods for one night and come back to their campsite the next day. |
