We used to love this campground, great sites, clean bathrooms, trail to the lake, close to town if needed, and amazing stars! Being so close to the Front Range it's really hard to get a reservation now but then a bunch of sites are no-shows. There also seem to be more people who don't care about campground etiquette - cutting through people's sites, singing/yelling long after quiet hours, dogs wandering around. We might wait a few years before we come back.

Always great to be at Prospector. Beautiful views from every site. Feels like you are deep in the forest, but moments away from amenities, to include hiking and biking and dining in cool downtown Frisco and/or Breckenridge. Campground Hosts are always friendly and helpful when needed. Good Verizon coverage using our Boost.

Prospector is a great campground because it is close to the water, the towns of Dillon and Silverthorne and is home to numerous hiking trails!

Awesome campsite. So much fun I made reservations for the fall. One issue was it was difficult using the reservation system. It took me several tries to get 2 days. It only wanted to give me one even though I selected two consecutive open days. It is not obvious how I finally got it, but I did and will be back.

The campsite was great, plenty of room between groups so you have some privacy. The views are gorgeous with a nice little hiking path down to the water. Definitely will be staying again!

This campground never disappoints. It’s beautiful with nearby hikes and a short walk to the lake for paddle boarding or fishing.

Campers must occupy the site the first night at a campsite. This prevents booking the site for Fri-Sun and showing up on Saturday. |
| General |
Campers may leave the site for 24 hours and must occupy the site otherwise. This allows a camper to say go for an overnight backpack trip in the woods for one night and come back to their campsite the next day. |
