What Guests Are Saying
Petersburg Campground is a beautiful and well-maintained site with spacious, clean campsites and friendly staff, making it a peaceful place to enjoy nature. Many visitors appreciate the gorgeous scenery, access to the lake, and the opportunity to see wildlife like armadillos and woodpeckers. Although there are some lingering effects from Hurricane Helene, including tree damage and a need for improvements in certain facilities, overall feedback suggests a positive camping experience.

This is a beautiful, well maintained park. The dock near our camp site was broken. It might be a good idea to fix it before someone gets hurt on it

Petersburg is a clean quiet campground. Bathhouses are a bit outdated but they were clean. Spots are wide and have fire rings, grills and picnic tables. This is a very wooded campground so there is a lot of poison oak, sumac etc., we did see a very large Timber Rattlesnake on the road warming up when coming in at nearly dusk. We had a very large king snake swim across the water and come on shore at our lot. We had a daily beaver visit as he swam in and out of the cove which was really cool. Being that the area is so wooded wildlife is abundant so we always walked with a stick and carried flashlights. All in all it was a great stay, very relaxing and will definitely visit again!

the gate agent----" Brenda" was exceptionally helpfull....a smile and a willingness to help us find a campsite at the end of a long days drive was "the lite at the end of the tunnel"....we showed up without a pre- reservation and she made it happen....the perfect "ambassador"....the campsite with hookups was neat and clean as well.....

Site 46 was very steep with a drainage ditch just right of center. We had a challenging time getting into the site in our 40 ft Motorhome. Besides that is was the most beautiful site we have been in in four years. It was on the lake, with lots of room and so peaceful. We will definitely be back.

This is our favorite COE campground. Almost every spot is waterfront, spacious and private. This campground is a gem. We kayaked and hiked.
