Site #81 was easy to back into. Has a view of the lake but is not lake front. Close to the freeway- which was sometimes noisy but not always- and close to Benton and many other little towns. We enjoyed Seasonings Bistro restaurant in Benton, The W restaurant in Du Quoin and on Sunday the Mill Bar & Grill in Sesser has great fried chicken. Not much in the way of gyms in the area but Ultimate Power & Fitness in Christopher served well enough with lots of friendly patrons. The bike path was great! 20.6 miles in total.

It was our first outing in our Class A RV , it was a wonderful experience in this beautiful park. We got a spot on the lake and the park personal were great. I only live approximately 40 miles from it but I will definitely be back to enjoy the natural beauty and relaxation. 👍👍👍👍👍

The blacktop pad isn't as flat as most so we had to place two 2x6 wood blocks under the right side tires on the camper to help level it. Otherwise, this spot is a very nice location.

Nice campground. Ridiculously late 5pm check-in time especially in Fall is just bizarre. Most campers I know enjoy arriving mid-day -- noon or 1pm is standard 98% of campgrounds we've stayed. Overall nice campsites but highly variable between cramped and incredibly spacious (we paid for a 2nd site just to get some elbow room).
