This is one of those places you don't want to give a great review because more people will go there. But.... it is a wonderful campground with most spaces being very large and well separated. There are a few closer to each other for family camping. The restrooms were kept clean and well stocked. Water was a nice spout, not a pump. But, only one or two spots are really on the river. Most of them you have to walk down a path or two and a hill. Not a swimming campground. Tons of wood everywhere !!!! So... don't buy any. The only problem we have, and it is our personal feelings, is generators. Most campers were respectful and ran theirs only for an hour or two. Some even put them out into the woods to muffle the sound. But... there were those who chose to run them all day and into the evening, Just so they could keep the decorative tiki lights shining with no thought to their neighbors. This is not a generator free campground. Lots of tent campers who did not need them. 95% of the campers were super quiet with a few exceptions of very loud groups around the fires. Just go talk with the host if it goes past 10PM. Went kayaking right from the campground and it was gorgeous. Tons of dirt roads to ride bikes on. Another great thing was it is only a half mile off FH13, but the road is paved !!! As is the road around the campground, which was also great to walk around at night before turning in. You only hear traffic on this rarely used road once in a while. All in all, a great place to camp.

Beautiful area and pleasant campsite. Had very few bugs, which was appreciated. We did have difficulty finding the campsite because Google Maps tried to take us on a road that was just two tire tracks in the middle of a forest and then preceded to lose connection. Once we found it, though, it was lovely. A little chilly in early September and the bathrooms don't have lights, but otherwise a worthwhile stay.

We really enjoyed our stay. The sites were well spaced out and surrounded by forest. Toilets and water were easily accessible. Firewood for sale. A 20 minute drive to the western end of Pictured Rocks National Lake Shore.

Campground was very well maintained and the campsites are surrounded by lots of trees so they feel very private. Also if you do not have something to cut up downed wood for a fire they sell firewood at one of the sites by the campground entrance.

Wonderfully clean and quiet. Space between sites and ours had a personal pathway to the river.
