What Guests Are Saying
Indian Creek Campground is highly regarded for its beautiful, spacious, and well-maintained sites, surrounded by nature and offering easy access to hiking and Mark Twain Lake. Campers appreciate the friendly and helpful staff, clean facilities, and peaceful atmosphere, making it a favorite spot for many. While there were minor issues with booking and bathroom cleanliness, overall experiences are overwhelmingly positive, with many looking forward to returning.

Great camp ground! We've held an annual campout with over 150 people for 7 years now and this campground has absolutely everything we need working great every time.

This was our last night out before going home after a 9 day trip. This was not a good experience to have to end our wonderful trip. The road in to the campground is narrow and not marked well. Then The man running the check in booth was a jerk. He is not a people person. Not friendly at all. We then had a hard time finding our spot. Usually we get maps are the nice people in check in give us directions, not this guy. Our number post was laying on the ground when we got to our site. The campground is very wooded and it would usually be a place we would love to stay. Not this time. Check out is 4pm and we left before noon and had someone waiting for our spot. When we checked out the guy in the booth was even more of a jerk than he was when we checked in. He is not a nice man at all. Camping is supposed to be fun and he ruined it for us. I would never recommend this place to anyone and we will never come again.

Beautiful setting! Everything was great except for the level of the camp site. I could not get our Class A 30’ to level. I did get close. Also, I know all trees are precious, but leaving one 3’ from the passenger side in the middle of the parking space is not great. No way to use awning.
We had a great time!

We stayed on the Indian Creek Campground. Did my bookings through recreation .gov. The bookings were easy. The stay was amazing. I had to work in Monroe City for two weeks and boy this was by far the most convenient and best choice I could have made. My husband and our best friend Dodger Dog were able to join me. Thank you so very much.

My husband and I have been camping in this park for three years now. We’ve never had a problem with any site we’ve had nor that any of our family and friends have had. We always have at least 6 campers that we get sites together as we celebrate Christmas in July here. Due to my kids having so Christmas’s to go to around Christmas time. So we celebrate for 4 days in July. It’s a BLAST!! This past year by accident one of our campers in our group reserved a handicap site. ( my son actually had a farm accident and lost half of his foot three years ago) he doesn’t use a handicap parking pass anymore. Anyway when he stopped to ask about staying in that spot he was told that if he did and the park ranger stopped to check if he did he would have to move his camper. So he stayed in another site. This was an honest mistake. THE NEXT DAY another camper pulls in there and sits up. NOONE WAS HANDICAPPED NOR DID THEY HAVE A HANDICAP PARKING TAG. They stayed the whole weekend right in the middle of our 6 spots when my son had to camp on the other side. Not happy about this one. The camp host told my son he couldn’t camp in it but then a few hours later gave it to another person. NOT OK We’d had our reservations for 6 months. And when we made the reservations we we not told it was a handicap spot. They need to get it together. We even went to them and complained and told them the other campers were not handicapped and they said “oh well. “ Not a very smart camp host
reply.
