What Guests Are Saying
Avalanche Campground is highly praised for its beautiful, quiet setting and proximity to popular hiking trails like Avalanche Lake and the Trail of the Cedars. The campground is well-maintained, with clean facilities and attentive camp hosts, making it a great base for exploring Glacier National Park. While some campers noted issues with privacy and the lack of showers and lights in the bathrooms, the overall experience is considered excellent by many visitors.

Nice campground..only thing I found was posters that you are in bear country but no bear boxes ..so makes me think maybe not so … as every campground I’ve been to that is in bear country there is a bear box at each campsite ..just does not add up

Great location within the park. We appreciated being right next to Trail of Cedars and the Avalanche Lake trailhead. Some of the campsites were larger... but the one we had was pretty small and close to our neighbors. Thankfully we just had a single mid-size tent this trip. I'd look for a different campsite within the campground next time.

Avalanche campground is beautiful. A little tight for trailers. We enjoyed watching the deer that frequented rhe campground. The favorite activity of the grandkids was jumping into the river at Red Rocks.

Great getting in and out, nice to have access to road to the sun. I enjoyed the part between Apgar and Avelanche on the lake and at Red Rocks the most. This camp spot is SUPER shady which is great, (except Starlink satellite couldn’t find service, which is fine) . But the spot is not at all level. I could get level side to side, but the back was always 5-8” lower than the front. The space is line with huge rocks and it’s curved, so it was more difficult trying to back up and get level, I kept hitting to rocks. I was in a 20 foot long sprinter 4x4.
