What Guests Are Saying
Avalanche Campground is highly praised for its beautiful, quiet setting and proximity to popular hiking trails like Avalanche Lake and the Trail of the Cedars. The campground is well-maintained, with clean facilities and attentive camp hosts, making it a great base for exploring Glacier National Park. While some campers noted issues with privacy and the lack of showers and lights in the bathrooms, the overall experience is considered excellent by many visitors.

Wonderful Campground beyond the timed entry section of going to the Sun road. No cell phone reception, no showers, but mostly spacious and level sites.

We slept so well at this campground and it was so beautiful. Loved that there was running water too!

It was a rainy day, but the campground was peaceful and beautiful. So many trees surround each campsite, making our site especially cozy during the rain. The Trail of the Cedars is just a walk away, which made staying here even more memorable.
If I were to pick between staying at Apgar and staying here (Avalanche), I would pick this campground any day!

Great spots.Lots of trees seperating large sites. Flush toilets, no showers, no firewood. The day parking gets crowded, but the campground is an oasis from that. Had some deer visit us in the evening.

One of the best primitive campgrounds I’ve ever been to. Clean, quiet and plenty of space between sites. Best part was the Avalanche Lake hiking trail that is connected to the campground. Definitely worth the trek up to the lake.
