What Guests Are Saying
Holter Lake Campground offers beautiful, well-maintained sites with friendly and helpful staff, providing stunning views of the lake and various recreational activities like fishing and boating. Many guests appreciate the cleanliness, convenient boat launch, and the inviting atmosphere created by fellow campers. However, issues such as noise disturbances, reservation challenges, and limited amenities like electricity and dump stations have been noted, particularly during busy weekends.

Love Holter...however, sure disappointed that Log Gulch is closed. Staff said they couldn't find anyone who had gone through the 2 to 3 mo training needed...Really....so instead...close it? I would have thought another solution could had been figured out. Sad for old Montanans that have camped there since childhood.

Very fun weekend. Cold in early June but still fun to be in the mountains and alongside a lake.

We camped here for years prior to the park going to a reservation system, now it’s nearby impossible to get a sight and they have now gone to reservations only for tent camping also . The problem with the reservation system is people make reservations and then don’t come and the sights go empty while people who really want to camp can’t because technically the sights are all booked . They should be a policy put in place that people who don’t show up are penalized and the sight should be reopened on the website. The sights are nice but all that was there were big fifth wheels and buses with generators running all day . So it has turned from a campground to an RV park

Nice grassy camp sites, with fire rings and tables. Half of the campground sites are along the lake and the others have good views of the lake. Tent camping area is down near the marina.
Very friendly and helpful camp hosts. They have closed the fish cleaning station.
