Great campgrounds! Not too crowded, so nature time is still a go!
Quiet time for generators is also a plus for this!
Log Gulch Campground has a couple of tight blind curves to get there, but worth the effort. Boat ramp and additional dock space makes this a great place to launch from. Straight shot across the lake if you're heading for the Gates of the Mountains!

Me and Up to 11 other Families have met at Holter every summer for over 30 years. But it had been 5 years since the last time camping here. Really disappointed..... Sites are not well maintained, only 1/2 of the bathrooms were open, both fish cleaning stations were close, there is no green grass - just brunt hay type with weeds, dock lights don't work, most trees were in bad shape, Boat Loft was closed (had to pack boat gas cans to Wolf Creek to refuel, get ice, and odd ball groceries or bait.) Not sure why or what has happened in the last 4 or 5 years but all of us were really disappointed.

Lovely campground completely ruined by the LOUD generators. What ever happened to being outside and enjoying the quiet of nature? If you want to watch TV and have a fridge then stay home and stop ruining the camping experience for the rest of us. Better yet go to a RV campground and you can all use your generators and sit inside your large boxes.

The pine tree between spot 2 and 4 needs trimmed it scratches RV’s when driving down the road and especially when backing into spot 2.

Camp Hosts very helpful, but lacking the ability to enforce "no shows" rule at camp sites. Reserved sites left empty that could be utilized by other campers. Fish cleaning station is still closed after over a year!!!! First it was said it was a COVID issue and now its a maintenance issue, what gives? There is not another place to dispose of fish entrails other than at the campsites and then to the trash containers which contribute to odor and flies.

Prairie rattlesnakes and bull snakes inhabit this area. Be cautious of where you step or reach. |

Please watch for ticks and black widow spiders. Both are very common in the area. Black widow bites, while not usually deadly, can be extremely painful and have caused local necrosis of the associated tissues and severe illness. |
