I was camping and fishing with my grandson. Great camping sites, lots of wildlife and the camp hosts were very helpful.
Besides fishing my grandson enjoyed the lake swimming from the boat.
The gates are a must see, and of course the sleeping giant was there with us.

Love our time every year at this campground! But very dissatisfied that the fish cleaning station has not been open for the last two years.

The campground hosts were extremely rude. They showed up to our site at 7 am and demanded extra payment because we set up a tent. They then came by two more times and demanded more payment after we paid the extra. It was ridiculous as we were not leaving and there was ample time to take care of any issues with payment. I had children sleeping and he stood at our site until I told him I had a $100 bill. I told him I would not give it to him but he could bring me back change. He demanded that I give him the $100 bill but I refused.

We had a large group of 11 so we purchased two camp sites. When we arrived we learned that we needed to spend $135 more for additional tents AND that there were tent limits. It probably states that in the site info but it would be more helpful if it was more clearly stated up front. We’ll probably do a better job of checking moving forward. The campground was very well maintained and the hosts were most friendly.

The reservation thing is a joke I was very mad that the few nights we were there the whole place was booked but about half to three quarters of the spots were empty at night, so that just shows that it’s being abused terribly and the place used to be mowed nicely now it’s very shabby!

One of my favorite campgrounds. Close to home, quiet, nice campsites and always great camp hosts, beautiful views of western big belt mountains.

We have been going to Holter lake for years. We love the camping and fishing. Very nice camp ground! Our only complaints would be now we have to have reservations to camp. Many retirees don’t know where they will be stopping each night let alone three months in advance. And why is the fish cleaning station not open for the last two years. Very inconvenient.
