The bathrooms are currently being updated, but overall a great campground with beutiful views. Easy access in and out of sites, and a wonderful walking path right off the campground. The bathrooms are very large, and once the renovation is complete, they will be nice.

The lava fields were amazing. We loved the walking path and trails. We walked them several times with our dogs.

My wife and I have camped here several times over the past few years and very much enjoy the setting. A few years ago they transitioned from FCFS sites to mostly reservation sites, so there are very few open sites on any day. There are only 19 RV sites total including 2 handicapped sites. There is a constant stream of RVs driving in and leaving when they are unable to find an open site. There are also many RVs that come here just to use the dump station without staying to camp. In general the campground is well maintained especially when Daniel is on duty as campground host. The campground is situated on a ridge overlooking the lava field and is a great place to watch the sun set. Unfortunately this location also makes it very windy during much of the year.

Lava flows were fantastic. Campground well maintained. Easy in, easy out. Amazing sunsets. A little remote, town nice but small. Would go back.
