Great campground. Brutal 22 miles of washboard dirt road.

Wonderful place, but the rough washboarded roads are exhausting

The place was awe inspiring. The park personnel were very informed. Needed to turn the wind off at night, but you can’t find more beautiful night skies anywhere in the world.

Really enjoyed our time. There is something special about being able to walk through ruins. Learning the history was awesome. Do the sunset hike because it’s incredible. The campground hosts did a group campfire which was fun to swap stories. Our kiddos got the ranger badges which they loved. This place is special at night. So many shooting stars!

When we arrived at Gallo, we were greated by the hosts, Norman and Clarice. They spent time with us discussing the campground and the park in general. They were very accomodating and we really appreciated the time they spent with us. The water was turned off, but the park did a great job providing port-a-johns and fresh water.
We had a great time hiking and camping at the park. The visitor center was kind and accommodating.

Spaces are somewhat close. Hosts were super helpful. Roads in are very rough - no clearance issues, just it washboards and bedrock.

Very well kept campground. While we were there over three days there was not any water service available. Bathrooms at campground as well as visiter center were closed. Porta-Potty were provided as well a 5-gallon jugs for drinking water.

Although no water due to issues the campground host was first rate and deserves credit
