What Guests Are Saying
Gallo Campground offers a beautiful and well-maintained camping experience in Chaco Canyon, with stunning views, amazing night skies, and friendly campground hosts who provide valuable information and assistance. The campground is clean and organized, featuring level sites and access to hiking trails and ancient ruins. However, visitors should be aware of the rough access roads, limited privacy between campsites, and occasional issues with water and restroom facilities.

We camped on the night of a new moon and the stars were absolutely amazing. The camp site was very clean and the bathrooms were in good condition.

Campground is clean and well organized. Restrooms were very clean! Norman the ranger and his partner were amazingly knowledgeable and accommodating - in addition to being very nice people! Recommend highly a Navajo guided tour - this is a magical place where most will miss a lot without a trusted guide. See ALL of the kivas and be sure to hike the Pueblo Bonito Overlook after the tour. Be careful when shopping for tee shirts - one of the staff gets cranky if you unfold them to check the size. I believe this is more of an individual issue as the rest of the folks in the welcome center were helpful and gracious.

Really nice campground! Somewhat small so definitely make reservations! Water and flush toilets in the middle of the desert…a remarkable feat! Restrooms were clean, heated(!), and well stocked. Sunsets on the mesas and Fajada Butte were fantastic. Short distance to visitor center and the ruins. Hiking, ranger led tours, the mystical feel to the whole area made for a magical experience….don’t miss it!!!

Basic campground with decent bathrooms. Road is easily done in 2wd, but the washboarding on the road is significant which makes for a long 13 or so miles in.
Park itself was nice.

Pleasant site close enough to the restrooms and water taps. Visitor's Center was great about making room for extra nights in the great location. Just ask at the front desk.

Campground is very clean and the group site is large. The campground hosts are super friendly and go above and beyond in keeping the place tidy.

Make sure your RV will fit a space. Make your reservation well in advance. Trust them when they say the road in is rough. Other than that, a great campground and a amazing place to visit!
