What Guests Are Saying
Gallo Campground at Chaco Canyon offers a beautiful, serene experience with well-maintained facilities, including clean restrooms and potable water. Campers appreciate the stunning night skies and the opportunity to explore significant historical sites with fewer visitors. While some campers noted issues with noise from others and a lack of privacy between sites, the overall atmosphere is peaceful, and many look forward to returning for another stay.

We had a wonderful time. The sites are close together without any privacy, but the other campers were great. The bathrooms were good and clean. There was water for our trip at the site in the bathroom buildings. We had brought in 10 gallons because we had read that there wasn't water available. But, at least for this trip there was.

Chaco Canyon is a spectacular treasure and Gallo Campground is a great place to experience the night sky. But several camping parties came in around dusk and were loudly shouting and carrying on until nearly 11 p.m. The 2 camp hosts did nothing to mitigate the noise. That was disappointing because I found it very disrespectful to the majority of other campers who were considerate.

Loved camping at Gallo Campground. The drive to get to Chaco NHP is a little nerve rattling with the 13-miles of gravel road for the north entrance. I was grateful to pick up a campsite for the second night so that we could relax a little more after a long and fantastic hike. Look forward to returning and exploring more in the future.

Chaco offers a unique experience. You have to be deliberate in wanting to go to Chaco. But the reward far exceeds the challenge to get there. Often you can be the only visitor at a great house site. This is an unmatched experience at such a beautiful, significant and historic site. Truly something special. To walk thru these spaces, explore these sites on your own, spend time where you choose at your discretion becomes a personal experience truly one of a kind. I think this was my eighth trip to Chaco and it is still like being there the very first time. Unbelievable.

Really nice campground. Clean toilet facilities and a utility sink. Well layed out tent sites. Halfway up the trail by the camp hosts, you can get a cell signal.
