What Guests Are Saying
Gallo Campground offers a beautiful and well-maintained camping experience in Chaco Canyon, with stunning views, amazing night skies, and friendly campground hosts who provide valuable information and assistance. The campground is clean and organized, featuring level sites and access to hiking trails and ancient ruins. However, visitors should be aware of the rough access roads, limited privacy between campsites, and occasional issues with water and restroom facilities.

The campground itself is fantastic. Spaces are decent spread out, and I was pleasantly surprised that it was accessible to hiking trails and a couple of alcove houses without even having to go into the main park itself. The rangers and camp host do a great job of keeping things tidy, enforcing quiet hours, and generally making the visitor stay a pleasant and memorable experience.

Nice, quiet place. No trees, so not much privacy, but all are here for the Chaco experience.

Nice clean campground close to the Chaco Canyon sites. The sites were a bit close together and it should be more clear that their is no potable water for rigs (only a sink for drinking water/washing dishes). Road in was also pretty rough.

The hiking trails are great and history amazing. Great park volunteers that do great guided hikes. The campground bathrooms did not have hand soap or hot water.
The architect conservator did a wonderful lecture that was a last minute add that was wonderful.

Gallo Campground is remote to the urban life but intimately close to the Chaco Culture. But book early to get a site!

Love camping at Chaco Canyon—the only way to truly experience the magic. Sites are a bit close, but everyone is mostly respectful of other campers.

This area is a sacred and absolute treasure. With water, flush toilets, and heated bathrooms! Don't change anything, including the roads.
