What Guests Are Saying
Gallo Campground offers a beautiful and well-maintained camping experience in Chaco Canyon, with stunning views, amazing night skies, and friendly campground hosts who provide valuable information and assistance. The campground is clean and organized, featuring level sites and access to hiking trails and ancient ruins. However, visitors should be aware of the rough access roads, limited privacy between campsites, and occasional issues with water and restroom facilities.

I’ve stayed here several times and loved it each time.
There are petroglyphs and ruins right there at the campground; doesn’t get much better than that!
Also, the bathrooms are clean and there is potable water available.

Mostly by ourselves, for the most part, other than the drive in it’s a great campground

Great location and campsites, and our host Jack (Teddy Bear Loop) was informative, and made us feel right at home.

There is a 20 mile dirt road, with severe washboarding. Then a gully you have to drive through with water running through it road is impassable and they will not refund the money you paid for your reservation.

Rangers here are the best...thanks!! Friendly and informative. Chaco is amazing. Everyone should go in August, so that the rest of us can have it to ourselves in the winter!

Amazing! So snowy, but so beautiful! Slept in the car… pretty chilly temps, but worth it.
