Gallo Campground

Fantastic time at Gallo. Host were amazing, beautiful setting, and close to all amazing pueblos located withing this amazing park. Will be back!

We loved Gallo Campground for many reasons, including: 1. The Campground resident manager was just putting up our sign when we arrived so we got to meet her personally, and she was very nice. 2. The Campground is beautifully situated, against the northern cliff wall at Chaco, and our camping space #26 was right in front of the tiny little Chacoan house. It was beautiful, and only a 1-minute walk from our camp. 3. The bathrooms were great and close by. 4. Our neighbor campers were nice to us and even let us use their bug spray. 5. The campground was convenient to the Visitor Center and all the Great Houses in the canyon. We loved our stay!

The 3 camp hosts were very congenial and helpful.
The two employees in the visitor center 10/21and 10/22 were not, it was as if they were not happy to be there. They seemed very unhappy and a little rude too.

Camp host was great. We froze our kiesters at nov but was lovely during the day. A special magical place for sure! Bathrooms were well maintained as was the entire camp.

The bathrooms (toilet and sink only) are immaculate.

Camp host and visitor center staff were great! This is such an amazing place and we are so grateful to have made our third visit.

This campground is awesome! Difficult to get to but very worth the journey. Super friendly and helpful camp host, clean restrooms and incredible scenery make this a perfect boondocking paradise. Clear, starry nights were the icing on the cake.

Campground is beautifully set but the sites are very close together and there is no privacy. However, all the campers share a great interest in the wonders of Chaco Canyon's ruins so everyone got along just fine. The supply of water and the quality of the bathrooms was surprising and excellent. We had a wonderful time.

I love Chaco Canyon it is my favorite place in the world. The campground is very clean and the restrooms and community sink are also very clean. The host at the campground Julia and Stephanie are the best ...Julia will be missed she retires at the end of the month . Thanks to all in Chaco to allow us to come and visit. Fellow camper advice please be aware it is a dark sky community please respect all who are trying to see the stars which the milky way is right above your head in the camp and remember to bring all you need there are no stores and who wants to go back out once you drive in ... Speaking of drives I've always came in thru the South just go slow and enjoy the drive and the cows

A wonderful place as always. Unfortunately the campground is small and sites are necessarily close together. However people are generally very respectful regarding noise and generator use so it does remain a peaceful place. There were a number of empty sites that people did not cancel. Recreation.gov needs to find a way to incentivize people to cancel or to easily modify their reservation if they plan to arrive a day later. The current system actually penalizes people for changing their reservation.
