Beautiful campground. In the forest with great trails. Great staff. Close to downtown Asheville and close to the Parkway. Best of both worlds. We camp here about twice a year, October/November and January/February. Beautiful but cold in February. Love it.

It was a great experience. We traveled here from Florida during the winter time for a quick trip so our kids could see snow. The facilities were clean and it was a quiet stay. We even had mechanical issues and had to over stay our welcome, but the management understood and allowed us to stay long enough to get our camper back on the road. All in all, I would highly recommend.

Asheville is always a wonderful city to visit any time of year. And a stay at Lake Powhatan is perfect! We usually come in June and August every year for vacation, but this time we needed to come in January. Because of the time of year, it was not busy. It was too cold for most. Take a trip to downtown Asheville and enjoy to shops, restaurants and many breweries in the area. There are MANY outdoor activities to choose from.

Quiet and secluded yet only 15 mins from all that is happening in Asheville. Big sites with plenty of privacy.

Great location for hiking, clean restrooms, and the NICEST staff of any campground that we go to. Outgoing, friendly, courteous, energetic.
We've been coming here for years and it just keeps getting better.
...wish you'd ditch the yurts and and power to more of the sites though. There's only one loop with a bunch of power sites. I don't really need water/sewer but electricity is great to have.

Beautiful area. Trails directly behind campsite. Clean facilities if needed. Camp hosts are phenomenal. They communicate extremely well and routinely check sites for safety
