We visited during a very rainy weekend but still had a great time. Our GPS took us on a small two lane then one lane dirt forest road. We wouldn’t go that way. Stay on main roads. Site 44 was a great site for us!

Deep Creek is an awesome campground had has been a hidden jewel for many years. I spent many summers a kid and continue to visit. This year the camp ground initiated an on-line reservation system. Its a good idea on paper but ultimately camp sites are blocked by reservation and when the camper does not show, the site remains blocked. I miss the old days of showing up and picking a vacant site in person. Regardless, It its a great place to make memories and perfect for getting kids away from their computer games. Tubing, hiking, biking and camping are the camp attractions. Bryson City is also a good attraction for a craft beer connoisseur. The camp is convenient to most attractions in western NC.

The spacious tents-only section by Deep Creek was a very peaceful experience. The easy access to different scenic spots, like Tom Branch Falls and Indian Creek Falls, and to variable hiking trails was a great asset. Having spent much time in other parts of Great Smoky Mountain National Park and camped at Cosby Campground, it was a pleasure to explore this side of the park.

I stayed here for a weekend and it was really good. We did some extra like tubing and hiking to couple of fall closeby. You will really enjoy your camping experience. Best time to visit is the summer.

The hours online did not reflect the actual hours of the park office. also no enforcement of quiet time was even attempted. a church group arrived right at 10PM and starting setting up their tents and being extremely loud and walked around and through our campsite constantly until i finally was able to fall asleep late into the night. i loved the surrounding area but the campsites were entirely too close together for quiet time to not be enforced. The sunrise and trails in this area were breathtaking but someone could easily sleep elsewhere and experience this without dealing with the hassle of noisey campsite neighbors.
