Bathrooms are filthy, and have been every time I’ve come here. It’s like they clean a little every other Monday, no hot water in shower, only warm enough to not freeze, zero even warm water out of sink, and no soap in a public restroom?? Fire pit was full to the top with ash. Electricity went out for a while. All of that I can look right past because the Badin lake area is great, but the reason I’ll never stay there again is the camp host Jennifer, with her arbitrary rules, authoritarian demeanor, and her perpetual “that’s not my job” attitude. All of the camp hosts before her were just wonderful to deal with. Unless you absolutely need electricity hook up, don’t go there. Badin lake campground is far better.

Nice campground with the basic amenities if you are RV camping. The majority of the sites do not have any hook-ups, so you will be boondocking, but this is common for National Forest campgrounds. However there is freshwater and a dump station onsite. Really can't ask for more for $20 a night. The sites are mostly wooded, although a little closer together then some of the other NFS campgrounds we have been to. There is a large shower house with flush toilets and shower stalls - could have been a little clearer, but it was acceptable and about all you can really expect for a government run campground. There a nice lake with a boat ramp very close, and extensive trail system. Overall, I would recommend for quick weekend get away.

We enjoyed our stay at Arrowhead Campground. Our site was great and the bathhouse was clean. We hiked part of the Badin Lake trail. Which needs some maintenance, it looks like storms went through and felled quite a few trees that had to be climbed over or detoured around. From our neighboring campers it was obvious that this is a favorite location for those who like to travel the off road trail system in the Uwharrie Forest with their Jeeps! Badin Lake and the boat ramp is a short walk from the campground, when we camp there again it would be great to bring kayaks!
