We stayed at #23 which is Tent Only- Electric. We used an 8 person tent and it was the perfect size. I would not recommend 2 large tents for this site. The site is on the exact opposite corner of the loop from the bath house, but the walk wasn't bad. It was shaded and well maintained. Everyone around us was very quiet and we really enjoyed ourselves. It is right next to the hiking trails so it was nice to take my son and dog down those paths. Overall, nice spot and reasonable price. We will return!

Site 23 was good for room and seclusion. It’s a bit far from the restroom. Also during a rain storm the site flooded due to the elevation of the roadway and stairs compared to the tent site. It drained quickly but you’ll need to be prepared for a temporary flood during a rain event.

shade with trees for hammocks, sky chairs etc. Nearby access to Badin lake. Most camp sites are well spaced apart.

The campground and restrooms were well maintained. The trails are all well marked, great place to hike. We also loved the off road trails. Definitely a place to come back to enjoy again.

The bathrooms were clean, but the temperature on the shower was inconsistent and not adjustable. When you're hiking in 95 degrees, a cool shower would sure be nice! There is no beachy area to swim from, although you can enter the lake near the boat ramp. There is nowhere to buy firewood or ice, but there are stores within about ten minutes.
The sites are really small and not near the water. When we booked, Badin Lake Campground was still closed, but it's open now. Their sites are bigger and closer to the water, so I'd recommend camping there instead.
The biggest issue we had was the yellowjackets. I realize that isn't the park's fault, but they were just awful. We bought a yellowjacket trap and filled it right up. We camp in a pop-up, but usually we just sleep and change in there. This time, we had to eat every meal after the first one in the camper. The first meal was pancakes with syrup and I'm not exaggerating when I say there were 15 yellowjackets buzzing around us. One of us was stung twice.

All in all, it is a nice campground, but does have need of improvement. Weekends are the busiest time. The trash cans were empty when we arrived Thursday but they dont pick up trash again till Monday. The trash areas are overwhelmed by Sunday morning. We stayed from Thursday afternoon until Monday afternoon. On Monday morning, the trash cans were still overfull as no one empties them through the weekend. The non electric campers were using the outlets in the bathrooms for charging cell phones and running electric cooking appliances. On Sarurday evening, they had the bathroom crowded and we could not get to the sinks. They made no effort to move for the people using the shower facilties. The bathroom sink area was clean when we arrived on Thursday but was disgusting by Sunday morning. No one cleans the rest room facilities during the busiest times - the weekend. There was a clogged sink and a clogged toilet all 4 days we were there.
The campsites themselves are nice. Our fire pit was full to the top with ash and hadn't been cleaned out recently.
The boat launch dock is in need of repair. All of the boat tie offs are broken or in rotted wood. They should have signs and enforcement keeping people from swimming/ diving at the boat dock. We had issues everytime we came back to the dock with the boat. Young people were using the dock as a personal swimming area and lounging area and didnt want to move when the boats would come in. It's a safety hazard.

The campground was well maintained and even though the sites were full, it still felt quiet. The bathrooms were clean enough, although hand soap isn’t provided. We enjoyed some fishing and walking trails as well.

First trip to this campsite. Perfect for a weekend get away! Showers/restrooms were clean and spacious inside the building. Outside needed a good cleaning. Folks were friendly and courteous in the campsite. Hiking/biking trails went for miles upon miles.
