Hawthorn Bluff offers a peaceful camping experience with beautiful lake views, well-maintained trails, and clean facilities, making it a popular choice for families and groups. While some RV sites are not level and certain amenities like hot water and flushing toilets experienced issues, the friendly staff and clean environment contribute positively to visitors' experiences. Quick trip when the weather broke. Always beautiful. Few excessive dog barking.

Site 6 is a good site. Level and easy to back into because there's an area right in front of it where you can pull forward of the site and get a better angle at it. It is a bit narrow with a sort of drop on the door side of the camper that can make entering and exiting a challenge for short people or those who have mobility issues. Bring an extra step if you have factory steps on your rig. Overall good site.

Site 10 is a "pretty good" site. There's a bit of a slope that's not real 5th wheel friendly. We have a 33' 5th wheel and it didn't fit as well as I would have liked it too because of the slope. The pavement at the site is narrow, the table and grill are behind and to the left of where you park your camper.
It's close enough to bathrooms to be an easy stroll.

Site 5 is a good flat site. Easy o back into. Close to a water hydrant if you need to get water. It's not too far from the bathrooms. It's near the entry so you might see a little more traffic, but it's not an issue.

I love the shaded campsites! The host was nice and gave me a call to let me know our site was vacant early and we could check in early.

Great campsite, fishing's good, swim area is a bit away from the campsites but it's nice and deep.

Hawthorn needs an update. The campground has beautiful views of the lake. However, the sites are difficult to get into, and it is not very clear on the listings that the sites do not all have access to water. Please give this campground some much needed love for us local folks.

There are 2 very large BBQ grills. We only brought 1 bag of charcoal and thought it would be enough to use both sides of one grill. It was not! Bring lots of charcoal.
The outlet is not located under the pavilion. I mistakenly assumed it would be on a pole next to the bar/shelf. Make sure you bring an extension cord if you wat to set out crockpots or something of the like.
