Hawthorn Bluff offers a peaceful camping experience with beautiful lake views, well-maintained trails, and clean facilities, making it a popular choice for families and groups. While some RV sites are not level and certain amenities like hot water and flushing toilets experienced issues, the friendly staff and clean environment contribute positively to visitors' experiences. Nice and shady area, quiet time is really quiet time so didn't have to listen to people still partying and being noisy. Swim beach was open and the kids all had fun swimming.

The trails were amazing and the view was fantastic. The water for your campers was a problem. Make sure you bring 100-150 foot of water hose to reach your camp spot and if your on the wrong side of the road, you will need something to protect your hose from getting tan over unless you just use your fresh water holding tank.

PROS:
Sites were paved.
Good view of the Lake.
Overall clean.
CONS:
NO WATER ON SITE. You have to fill up your fresh tank.
There were several dogs running around without being on a leash.
The fire pit was not cleaned out.
The sites were on the small side.
The site that we were on (24) was so far out of level that it was impossible to get the camper leveled front to back.

One of my favorite parks. Beautiful lake views with rocky shores. Only downfalls are the lack of water connections and many sites require some serious leveling, depending on trailer size. Locate water spigot ahead and fill your tank.

The trip overall was good. Definitely don't pick this camp site unless you have a 1 ton or diesel truck. My SUV did not want to back up that hill while full of water since there is not water at every site. Definitely on an incline and site is not super level. Just a heads up. Everything else was fine other than the F-1 tornado being just south of us while camping.

Stayed there 5/29/23 through6/1/23, had great weather to sit outside on bluff overlooking water. Enjoyed hearing and watching boaters on water.
There were incredible amounts of butterflies in campground, had to be sure door was shut quickly, both trailer and truck.
