What Guests Are Saying
Hawthorn Bluff offers a peaceful camping experience with beautiful lake views, well-maintained trails, and clean facilities, making it a popular choice for families and groups. While some RV sites are not level and certain amenities like hot water and flushing toilets experienced issues, the friendly staff and clean environment contribute positively to visitors' experiences. Overall, guests appreciate the campground's serene atmosphere and accessibility to nearby attractions, despite occasional maintenance concerns.

Spot 43 Handicap needs improvement. When you step out of your RV you have about four feet before you are in the dirt and mud. The pad needs to be widened for better access for the handicapped to include moving the tables to the side. With modern RV’s everything is on the right side of the RV. Additionally, the park would benefit greatly by upgrading the electrical service to 50 amps for all large RV spots. The cove would be an awesome location to have slips installed for boat access. Lastly there are only three sites with water. You’re not allowed to stay connected to the water even if it’s on your spot. Everyone has to bring water, and two hundred plus feet of hose to refill fresh water tanks when needed. Otherwise it’s a great camping spot!

This was my first time camping there and it was really great. It's the campers that really make it. Everyone is there for the love of the outdoors and everyone wants everyone to have a great time, and they are willing to help you anyway they can. The park itself is great. The trails were easily marked. Theres water sources thru out the park. I liked the picnic table set ups at each site. Plenty of shade. Water views. Short drive from BA. During the week is the best time to stay, less crowd.

We love Hawthorn Bluff. The restrooms are always clean. I do wish they would update the playground equipment. My 47 year old son played on it in the 70’s. There are lots of children that would se the playground, but it needs to be updated ASAP.

Some of the lakeside sites are on hillsides, you will need extra blocking for leveling jacks.

A lot of leaves and dirt in camp site. This is a very pretty park (with all the trees) but if some work on landscaping was done it would be the best.
