What Guests Are Saying
Hawthorn Bluff offers a peaceful camping experience with beautiful lake views, well-maintained trails, and clean facilities, making it a popular choice for families and groups. While some RV sites are not level and certain amenities like hot water and flushing toilets experienced issues, the friendly staff and clean environment contribute positively to visitors' experiences. Overall, guests appreciate the campground's serene atmosphere and accessibility to nearby attractions, despite occasional maintenance concerns.

Everything was great until the camp next to us showed up. 30 drunk people and they kept wandering onto our campsite. I have a 4 year old daughter and that's dangerous. Also their dogs kept barking at us. We went home bc of all the weirdos.

The lady at the front was wonderful.I wish I had know it was a small covered gazebo, and barely any shade. There was not a bathroom near and no trash cans. Disappointed

By the time I got my camper level, the hitch was 4ft in the air and my steps didn’t reach the ground. Bring lots of blocks! Otherwise it’s a great spot with plenty of room beside and behind the camper.

Nice quiet campground (except for the Holiday Weekend).

Campground was nice. Inconsiderate campers kept hooked up to water with splitter, causing the rest of us to "ask" them for water. Bathrooms were great. Please consider selling firewood, especially on holiday weekends.

I love this spot. Unfortunately, we were by rude and inconsiderate campers. It was so bad that 3 campers couldn’t handle the loud vulgar music and packed their families early Saturday morning. I wish I would’ve joined them. On Saturday, they held a birthday party with 25 or more guests and seven cars on the camp site. There is supposed to be a 10 person maximum. They had 3 or 4 dogs and they barked nonstop. Finally another camper called the Park Ranger because the adult males in the group started a fast pitch baseball contest and almost hit another campers son. Another lady and myself finally went to the volunteer station to see if we could be refunded our money. It was a disaster of a weekend. It seems the volunteers don’t have much authority, which is unfortunate. I’m hoping Hawthorne Bluff isn’t overrun by partying, it used to be a family friendly spot.
