Tahkenitch Campground offers a beautiful and peaceful atmosphere with ample opportunities for exploration, including nearby hiking trails and access to the beach. Many campers appreciate the privacy of certain sites and the clean, well-maintained facilities, although some noted issues with the reservation system and bathroom accessibility. While road noise and mosquitoes were concerns for some, overall experiences highlight the campground's charm and potential for enjoyable stays amidst the natural beauty of the Oregon coast.

Chose this because it was only campground with space in the area. Used to more private sites at lagoon campground further north. We happened to rent two next to each other which was nice, if we hadn't done that the adjacent campsite would've been way too close. Lots of the sites seem to be in pairs. Last complaint is the highway is quite close. Other that that its a perfectly fine campground, good bathrooms, tables, fire rings, etc.

This was a quiet, beautiful, pleasant place to anchor as we explored the surrounding coastal areas. Host was very helpful when we arrived without reservations and assisted us in obtaining them. Would go back with no hesitation. One small drawback is that due to its proximity to Highway 1, road noise was noticeable

The campsite itself was very nice and the camp host was a very kind woman who was very helpful and communicative. Unfortunately an angry homeless man who appeared to be on drugs came to the campground and refused to leave, and even returned after having been removed by a sheriff. The camp host did a wonderful job of handling the situation, but the site didn't feel safe to stay at, so we ended up cutting our stay short. I'd absolutely suggest this site, but highly suggest scoping out the area first.

The sites are packed in close together. I had to walk through another site to get to mine, and the two sites flowed into each other.

The camp host keeps the bathrooms and area spotless. There’s no cell service and without my asking she offered use of her landline to assist us In changing our booking dates to get a refund. The host is exceptionally kind and helpful. The sites are very narrow and it’s tight squeeze to fit two 2 man tents. There’s only a small waist high hedge between some sites and other sites you walk straight through another campsite to access. The road is right next to the site and noisy during the day but quiet at night. The site is well located near the beach and we hiked the 6mile Takhenitch Loop trail to access the beach through dunes and old growth trees. I’d definitely come here again.

Clean and well maintained. Due to proximity to Hwy 101 there is quite a bit of road noise on the weekend, a bit better during the week.

Please add that this campground is next to a very LOUD road and the noise is terrible. I couldn't even talk to my partner because the noise was so loud and non stop until late in the evening. I will never camp here again due to the noise. Then the woman's bathroom was down to one toilet, and the next day closed for the entire day. It was terrible for all women.

The campground was well-maintained and had all of the necessary amenities. The campground host was friendly and informative. The location on the highway was convenient for driving to nearby hikes and destinations.
The sites were somewhat small. I was in site 19, which only had slope road pitch my tent upon. While that isn’t an issue for backcountry camping, I expected a more level surface in an organized campground. I also felt that the fire pits were much deeper than I would have wanted them to be (I enjoy watching my fire, the pit was too high for me to do that).
