What Guests Are Saying
Tahkenitch Campground offers a beautiful and peaceful atmosphere with ample opportunities for exploration, including nearby hiking trails and access to the beach. Many campers appreciate the privacy of certain sites and the clean, well-maintained facilities, although some noted issues with the reservation system and bathroom accessibility. While road noise and mosquitoes were concerns for some, overall experiences highlight the campground's charm and potential for enjoyable stays amidst the natural beauty of the Oregon coast.

Depending on the site, you may have decent privacy. There are quite a few large trees in the sites for ample dappled sun in the afternoon. Flush toilets are nice although one stall was out of order in the ladies room while we were there. It was very quiet aside from some road noise. This campground is 1000% better than Tahkenitch landing campground.

Campsite was incredibly close to the highway, and very exposed to those around it. Good location in terms or things to do nearby, but would not recommend sites 1-4

It was nice enough, however, I reserved a spot for one vehicle and one pop up trailer. After I had my site set up the park ranger came by the next day and said I had to move my trailer onto the parking spot and would have to pay extra to park in the day parking area. That was not posted anywhere at the site nor on the website when I made the reservation which specifically said the spot was for one trailer AND one vehicle.

Someone was in our campsite and we were told that the sites had all been overbooked because of an issue on recreation.gov. We weren’t able to get a spot in the campground so had to camp in the trailhead parking lot because it was past 10pm and there was no service to call other campgrounds.

Very disappointed with this campground. We reserved a spot for a 12ft trailer and truck, we were able to reserve site #30 so we assumed it would be able to accommodate our equipment. Upon arrival of our site it could only accommodate a compact car so we had to park the truck and trailer by the restrooms on the grass. Later that night the camp host "Gypsy" told us we would need to move immediately. There was no where for us to move to so we ended up leaving the truck and trailer parked on the grass by the restrooms. We left the following morning at 5am and didn't stay the next night even though we had it for 2 nights.

Cramped campsites with zero privacy. Left the campground immediately when I spotted my campsite. The surrounding activities are excellent, but unless you’re in the mood for a non-private group experience this is not the place for you.

Some sites looked very nice, our site was pretty tight with little privacy from the site next to us. A group a few sites away had two dogs that barked constantly. When we inquired about the camp host doing something about this she said one of the dogs would be moved to another site. The remaining dogs contained to bark constantly. The group would scream the dogs name in their attempt to get the dog to stop to no avail. When they weren’t screaming at the dog or the dog wasn’t barking we had to listen to their loud, screaming children. If the level of noise created by this group could have been turned down a few levels it would have made our stay more enjoyable. Camp host should have taken stronger actions with this group as it really made for a very unpleasant stay.

I have a 29’ fifth wheel and an overall length of 47 feet. Using rec.gov filters it looked like it would work and it did and was pretty easy to park. Nice smaller campground with a beautiful 2 mile trail to the beach.
