Our first visit and glad it was with group who had been there before. Enjoyed the park but left three days early due to condition of horse pens that are not covered. It had rained a lot day before arriving and most pens were ankle deep in mud. Rain storms came back in forecast after our second day. Did not want our horses under pine trees in lightning storm standing in mud with no other cover available for them. There was nothing we could do to help. Trails were nice but not marked. Definitely need GPS and be careful for holes in path. Beach ride was best experience. We had guide in our group who kept us from getting lost. I tracked our path on GPS for other rides when guide not available. Strongly suggest using GPS or follow someone who has been there as once you enter forest it is possible to get lost. Would try going again but not if any chance of rain in forecast. And would carefully select which camp sites based on their ability to shed water if sudden rain storm.

Unusual hosts. They did communicate with me but I felt odd. They did have a value on safety which was nice since I was only one there several times

we were told to move for our spots due to someone cutting the trees close to my site Tuesday. the guys did not show up until Wednesday and the two trees they cut down weren’t anywhere around 7. I was with 4 other ladies in our group. They all moved but one lady. We were all spread out and it made it very inconvenient to visit because a couple of the ladies don’t get around well and they had to walk more to be close to everyone when we ate and visited. It would be nice if you gave us a credit on our acct being we were all inconvenienced for nothing!

Reservations for specific sites for several in our group were not honored because of tree maintenance. The work had to be done, but I think maybe there was a way a to schedule it so as not to disrupt plans we were counting on. Also, most of the horse pens are in serious need of sand. Several were so muddy the horses were shuffled around to drier ones. Luckily, because there were not many campers, that was an option for us. Otherwise, we had a wonderful trip. Chris and Dale appear to keep the wash house clean and tidy, and I appreciate their closing the park gate at night. There has been way too much loud, disruptive traffic and partying by non-guests. Closing the gate should minimize that problem.

The people overseeing the Equine Park are very nice and helpful. It's always a joy to stay at this facility.
