What Guests Are Saying
Sheridan Lake offers great tent and RV camping with spacious, shaded sites and a beautiful lakeside location, perfect for families and outdoor enthusiasts. The clean facilities and friendly hosts enhance the overall experience, despite some concerns about limited infrastructure and cellular service. While some campers noted noise from generators and construction, many found the setting peaceful and enjoyable, making it a desirable spot for future visits.

The lake was beautiful and the campsites were very nice the only thing that would have made it better if it would had electric at the sites and if we would have had cell phone service.

This was our second stay and is still our favorite campsite! We had a family reunion and had a blast! Great spacious campsites that have some privacy. Beautiful, clean lake with gorgeous views. The camping staff was very friendly and helpful. Close to all the main attractions in the Black Hills. Highly recommend to anyone and we look forward to camping at Lake Sheridan many more times!

Camp hosts very helpful. Wood for sale. Nice lots. I was in Smoke #11 with a 40’ and toad. Space between sites. I hope to go back.

Quiet campground. Great location for both mt. Rushmore trip and rapid city.

Loved our camping spot! Very peaceful when the neighbor wasn't running his generator, which was most of the time. It would start shortly after 7:00am and stop around 10pm. Generators are a real problem in the National Forest campgrounds. Perhaps restricting generator operating hours more or having designated generator free areas would help. I'm not completely anti-generator as we bring ours with us but it's only for emergency if our battery goes too low. We keep it topped off with a solar panel which works quite well. Shouldn't the camping experience be enjoying the peace and quiet nature has to offer, not trying to bring all the comforts of home to the outdoors to the annoyance of others? Maybe a full hookup campground would be better for some folks. Please be considerate.

The campsite was clean and in good condition. The bathroom was cleaned diligently every day.

2nd year in a row, 2, 5 star successes!!!!!!!!! LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!!! Wanted a campsite near the lake, didn’t get that lucky but still loved our spot! The bathrooms can get pretty smelly and buggy so just be ready for that. The new marina was amazing!!!!!

Wonderful place to stay. Sites are well spaced out and tree shade everywhere. It would be nice if it had a dump site, though.

I always enjoyed my stay at Sheridan. The only negative I give Sheridan is the $12 pet fee. We had a new less than 5# dog this year and was taken aback by the fee. I always pick up after her.

This was a perfect place for us to unplug for a week. We got in on Sunday and it wasn't too busy. A few people left on Monday and it was quiet until Thursday when it filled up.
Aside from the forest fire smoke, everything was great. It's a good location to all 'touristy' things but back in the woods enough to feel like you can relax.
