WE had a good stay at Midway. We had problems with our 5th wheel that was no fault of Midway. It was nice and quiet. Will be back again!

The park is beautiful & well-maintained. Beware, only 30 amps. During the Texas ice & snow storm, we lost power for 8 hours, but other places were out for a week.

We were traveling from Louisiana to Colorado Spring and stopped in. The location was really convenient right along the highway. The sites are very spacious and level. We stay on Site 2. We will stay again the next time in the area.

Stayed early February 2021. Beautiful grounds and scenery. Unfortunately no water, but this was the beginning and the frigid winter in Texas. Would love to return when the weather is warm just to view the area.

I am on the road visiting lakes in Texas and staying almost exclusively at Corp of Engineers campgrounds.
As for my stay at the Midway facility, I stayed two nights. The campground is right in town and right off a major highway so to me it seems best suited for quick 1-2 night stays.
Park rangers woke me up one morning, of course respectfully & polite, but the interaction was odd nonetheless. They referred to my small generator sitting outside (that was not running) and said the Corp has “brand new” rules that generators can not be run any time of day at any Corp properties.
Being thats I was half asleep I thought I was missing something but I thanked them and decided to hit the road instead of booking a few more nights.
Of course it’s quite possible that corp campgrounds have indeed decided to ban the use of generators at all properties, no matter the time of day. Personally I have not been able to confirm this online and have found no park hosts, rangers or volunteers that have heard of this rule, but maybe that is because it’s “brand new”
The property is nice, although highway noise is very loud depending on campsite location.
I enjoy all corp facilities I have been to so far but Midway isn’t for me.

A wonderful camping ground right in Waco! The sites were spacious and well maintained. The waterfront sites are amazing. We had great privacy from our neighbors which is rare at a campground. We have been camping for years and wish we could find a campground like this one near us....one of our all time favorites!!!

This park is in a great location, however, it is in need of major repair and updating. The bathroom showers are run down and only one works. There is a pile of rubbish between the entrance and the bathrooms that has been there for months. The playground is a major disappointment with it being all wrapped off and unavailable. It was a beautiful park when it opened years ago, but that seems to be how things go when government oversees maintenance. It's shameful! City parks are open in Waco and even Dallas areas, so not being able to have grandchildren play outside was just completely disappointing. It should be open because it's outside. It seems everything is depressing at this park with no pride taken in how things look to the visitor. It's a beautiful location with great views of the lake and sunsets, so why not treat it as the treasure it is. The government needs to take better care of our resources for the American people who pay for it. We have reservations set for a few more times this year and would enjoy having the playground open and both showers working. Not everyone has a shower in their RV. Thanks!
