Nice campground. Lots of wildlife. So many deer. Hope new road makes it way easier to find.

The campground and the camp sites were great. The detour to get to the campground was another story, it sure seems that while the other entrance was being improved you could have done something to make the detour halfway passable. So many bumps and holes, you could have at least tried to fill them in.

Be aware that access has changed dur to reconstruction of the Overflow Road. Pretty rough alternate road but my 40 ft Class A did fine, just go slow. RV park is really nice. Well cared for. We were in site 3 with beautiful view of the (depleted) lake. Only 10 minutes from downtown. BTW, highly recommend the restaurant at the Pivovar Hotel. Adjacent to Magnolia silos so great area. Also, recommend a trip to the Texas Rangers museum. Very well done and informative. Highly recommend this park.

Although the construction was not really a big problem, the signage as you got to the actual park entrance is lacking in direction. When I asked about it, I was told to just drive in and park, no gated entrance or other control was used. So no after 10 security.

Beware! Road to get in is being replaced. The detour road they have you come in on is AWEFUL! It will tear up your rv! Nobody made us aware when making reservation. In fact I called for days before going, because of the freeze, and nobody answered or returned messages. They need to communicate better. The park itself is beautiful, with lots of wildlife to enjoy. But it should be closed while redoing the road in.

Speegleville was a beautiful park, small park on a big lake. Deer outnumbered the campers. Unfortunately we were there when Texas was having unusually cold weather. Sleet, hail, rain and snow. Too cold to enjoy the beautiful outdoors, yet the whole town of Waco and surrounding areas were closed. The park and each camp site was very nice with little picnic shelters at each campsite. Bathrooms not very close, but were kind of yucky, cold, all cement. I wouldn’t use them.

From I-35, take exit 330B Hwy 6 N toward Meridian for about 6 miles. After passing over the Lake on the Twin Bridges, take the first exit toward Lake Waco/Speegleville Park. Take a left on the access road. You will continue past the Twin Bridges Park about a quarter of a mile until you reach Overflow Road. Turn right on Overflow Road and drive for about 1.5 miles until you reach the entrance on the left.
