The visitors staff were great. I was disappointed that a lot of the ranger programs were cancelled.

We LOVED the ranger led programs. One at the campground was on how ancient people used the sun to tell the date, and another and the visitor center was on tracking animals. Both were fantastic. You guys are killing it. have fun and stay safe out there!

The Needles campsite was quite remote by comparison to the Island in the Sky portion of the park, but we were able to appreciate the dark sky initiative and the quiet of our surroundings more in this more secluded portion of the park. There were fun stone outcroppings for the children to play on and the bathroom was clean and well-stocked. There were water-filling stations at the bathroom area. We hiked the Cave Springs trail with our young family (12, 7, 4, 2), and they did well. While on the trail, we saw two young owls settling down for a nap, and it was definitely a memorable experience!

Loved my week here! I stayed at B19. Small amount of shade and very close to the next site, but no one was there the first night so it was fine. Three tent pads available. The bathrooms around the corner had running water and were very well maintained.
I loved that you could climb up the rocks around you and watch the sunset! Be sure to take the scenic drive, the end of the road is worth it!
