Be sure to go up the canyon to the “end of the road” in Brighton, UT for an easy beautiful walk around the Silver Lake boardwalk. Be prepared to see lots of Utah wildlife at the Spruces. It was magical!

I’ve grown up camping in the spruces and now as an adult I love it even more! It’s so beautiful. Our site was well maintained and the yurt was so nice and cozy.

The lights in the restroom near our camp was burned out, making it inconvenient to see at night. The water in that restroom continually ran. During a drought that seemed unnecessary. We only saw the camp host make rounds 3 times in the week that we were there and when we asked about the concerns mentioned they said there was nothing they could do about it. The tables are in terrible condition and need some upkeep. We have camped at the spruces for over 20 years. The condition of the camp ground is really going down.

We just held our 50th family reunion at the Spruces campground. We have seen many changes and improvements over the years to this beautiful location, but have been alarmed at some of the changes this year. The glamping experiment seems to be a failure: too expensive for what you get and very few takers. Many fewer campground hosts with no supervision of parking, rudimentary at best cleaning of sites and restrooms, broken and unmaintained tables, water spigots, and toilets. This has to have been one of the premier campground sites in the state and it is sad to see its deterioration.

Site had trash in it when we arrived. Never saw camp hosts or anyone in charge of cleaning come by. If this were a free site, I wouldn’t care, but cleaning and ensuring a site isn’t trashed is part of the responsibility of the camp host

We had a great time. Yes it rained a few times but the weather during most of the day was perfect.
