What Guests Are Saying
Cougar Rock Campground offers spacious, clean sites with good privacy and easy access to Mount Rainier trails, making it an ideal base for outdoor enthusiasts. The bathrooms are well-maintained, although some reviewers noted a lack of warm water and soap. Nice quiet section of the campground. E1 has enough room for 2 tents, but only room for 1 car. Sunny tent pad, not far from the bathroom but not too close. There is a tree next to the site that looks like it may be about to fall so I'd recommend checking that out if its still there when you reserve - I reported it to the campground so they will hopefully inspect it to see if its a hazard.
This campground has flush toilets (no soap in bathrooms though), drinking water, and food storage bins that are bear-proof.

Right next to the bathroom - i would pick a different site if you have options. There's no blow dryer to create noise but there is an automatic light that turns on and the sound of doors closing.

Was camped at B016. Absolutely beautiful site. It says the pad can only accommodate a 8x10 tent but we easily fit a 14x9. Plenty of room for parking. Not too far from the restrooms either which are kept pretty clean. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to camp here

Parking pad was not very level. Site was small and quite far from the bathroom, plus not very private. No place to hang a hammock, but the location of the campground is convenient to Paradise and Longmire areas.

The campsite was good. It was pretty but it was right next to the bathrooms which meant a lot of ppl going through campsite to get to bathrooms. Great campsite for getting to hikes through out the paradise side of the park. No phone service, fyi

It would be helpful to have Starlink satellite if you plan to make any other internet reservations like purchasing tickets for entry into other areas of the park. The nearest satellite service we could obtain was in the town of Ashford. Areas like Paradise are crowded. Parking is limited. Plan to get up early or visit later in the day after 5pm.

Best place to camp near Paradise. Nights get loud and bright since the plots are close together, children screaming until 1am and half the block was lit up by many crazy bright flood lights from other campers' vehicles and such. No night patrol means you can't do much to stop it and they didn't care to listen to reason. Black out your tent and bring earplugs and you'll be comfortable.

We really enjoyed our stay at Cougar. Nice variety of sites with good space. We went mid week so it wasn’t really busy or noisy. Great views.

Parking space was next to each other and not flat. Otherwise very good. Easy access to Paradise in early morning to avoid crowds.
