Only difficulty was when we tried to go up to Summerland from Cougar rock. As they are in different quadrants of the park a 'timed entry' permit was needed. Unfortunately there is no internet provider in the park, therefore no way to apply for a permit. Only way we could transit to the summerland quadrant was to rise before 4:30 AM and arrive before 7:00 AM at the summerland entrance.
Surely the park can do better for people who are already camping within Mt Rainier Park!!

Tiny little campsite (big enough for my 1-man tent) next to trash bins on one side and downhill from the bathrooms on the other; there was pretty constant movement and a lot more light in my tent than usual. Otherwise, nice campground! BUT--if there's no fire warning, be aware that they will cheat the PANTS off of you on wood prices: $15 for a tiny bundle (I saw $8 at White River Campground a couple days later). The attendant literally said to me, "It's cheaper outside the park, but most people don't wanna drive out and wait in line to enter again." Nice of him to explain price-gouging to me. It seems incredibly shortsighted of the campground/park not to offer fair prices if they don't want people to bring in their own wood from more than 50 miles away.

Leveling our 19-foot travel trailer on site D35 was a bit challenging. However, we were able to find a location that worked.

Really good camping experience at the campground. Nice campsite, good ranger programs and the national park is obviously beautiful. If there were 1-2 more washrooms, that would be great.
