What Guests Are Saying
Cougar Rock Campground offers spacious, clean sites with good privacy and easy access to Mount Rainier trails, making it an ideal base for outdoor enthusiasts. The bathrooms are well-maintained, although some reviewers noted a lack of warm water and soap. Challenges include difficult campsite reservations and occasional issues with nearby campers, but the overall experience is positive, with many expressing a desire to return.

Mount Ranier is our favorite National Park and Cougar Rock campground makes our stay so enjoyable! Only downside is that the dump station and potable water station have been shut down for the past 2 years! Makes RV life difficult

I would have said excellent, I didn’t notice the fifth star. It’s a beautiful campground and quiet!

The campground is pretty neat and well maintained. The dump stations and bathrooms are good enough. The metal storage boxes are an added safety amenity. Each campground is spacious and secluded. There are also several first come first serve sites.
On one of the nights we attended a great presentation in the Amphitheater by one of the Rangers about the Nisqually River and it’s history which was really interesting and informative.

Great campsite in close proximity to paradise. Extending your stay by one night is usually possible but you have to get up at 630 am and get in line at the ranger station. Running water, clean bathrooms, good trash system. Definitely more populated than white river.

Excellent campground and by far one of my favorites. This site was super private, but the site behind was a little bit close. I didn’t mind though as the people were very quiet and respectful. The site was well thought out and it was really quiet and pitch black by 10pm which was nice! Would definitely stay at this site again.

We missed our reserved night because of logistics. The next day we arrive at Rainier and I visit this campground for first come first serve camping. There were 12 sites at that time on my phone still available..."ranger" said there were zero available..I walked in and those same spots were empty...not a coincidence. Maybe it was close to the end of the workers shift? I don't understand and I think it's pathetic.
