Cougar Rock Campground offers spacious, clean sites with good privacy and easy access to Mount Rainier trails, making it an ideal base for outdoor enthusiasts. I love this campground! You’re close to all the best parts of the Nisqually entrance side, you have bathrooms, and the price is right! The park staff are friendly and helpful!

Campsites are close together, but good proximity to paradise (20 min drive). Pretty average national Park campground. While my particular site was in the no generator loop, it is very close proximity to the R sites, which do allow generators and are quite loud.

Road behind site is kinda noisy. Friend complained about it being too far from bathroom. Bathroom is very buggy at night and morning. Kitchen sink is broken. Tent area is suitable for one big tent or two small two persons ones.

We were so lucky to get a spot from a reservation cancellation on the day we made an impromptu trip to Mt. Rainier. The campsites were well maintained. 10 miniutes drive to the Paradise visitor center and multiple sightseeing spots, including Skyline trail, Myrtle Falls etc. Really a pleasant experience.

Nice campground, located in a good spot between Longmire and Paradise. Decent campsites, although a bit close to each other; we had some noisy neighbors one night, but overall very nice.

I was able to grab a last minute reservation so I could car camp.while visiting the park. The campground was very clean, I had a semi-private lot, it was quiet, the campground ranger was friendly amd helpful, and the views were awesome! I highly recommend this campground if you want to stay in the park for your time there.

We enjoyed seven August nights in beautiful weather at Cougar Rock Campground. The Stevens Canyon Road has been upgraded very nicely, with some paving and painting still ongoing on the west end. Our site was spacious and wooded. It was a short walk from the campground to cross the rushing Nisqually River on a log bridge leading to the Carter Falls Trail. We hiked 33 miles of the Wonderland Trail with Cougar Rock as our base camp. Views were great everywhere. Rangers were friendly and helpful, especially with hike planning and wilderness camping reservations.

Due to budgets cuts the staff was very difficult to locate and get help from. There were very few rangers in the park which will eventually lead to lawlessness and a park in distress.
