Very busy, but beautiful Sierra lake. Campground is well maintained. There are sites not too far from the lake, but many are along a narrow road that ultimately ends at a small loop over a half-mile away. We stayed at #57 and think it was the best site there because it was at the end of the campground and away from most people. No close neighbors and a lovely creek flowing behind. We brought bikes to move around the campground and go to the lake. We preferred the creek to the lake for hanging out- lake was crowded with people.

Extremely hot climate with few trees in the campsites. We went due to the proximity to Convict Lake. Our days at the lake and along the creek running through the campground offered a fine respite from the arid campsites.

The campgrounds are clean bathrooms where clean all was amazing the lake is beautiful the river everything was amazing my family love it

We’ve been here a few times and always really love it here. Breakfast and evening dips are the best. Just found out there is a restaurant and bar that is supposed to be amazing. Next time!

This place is rustic but beautiful. Next to a small stream with plenty of wildlife.
No hookups but perfect if you have solar as there are very few trees or obstruction

The campground is well kept- clean restrooms, attentive hosts, all around pleasant and enjoyable.

Very well maintained campground! Bathrooms are very clean, firepits were cleaned out, beautiful and clean spot. We were at #83 - only thing is its not the easiest for a tent spot as the ground is hard to get stakes through and it's very exposed, no shade cover. Keep in mind, convict lake is a very windy campground and the lake itself gets pretty busy but the campground itself was quiet. Really enjoyed this spot a lot!

Convict Lake Campground is about 34 miles north of Bishop, California on Highway 395. From Bishop, travel north on 395. The turnoff to the campground is across from Mammoth Yosemite Airport and is well-signed. From Mammoth Lakes, travel on Highway 395 south for 5 miles. Turn west off of Highway 395.

Reserved Sites will be held until check out time (NOON) the day following your arrival date. Sites must be occupied by the checkout time of that following day to hold a reservation or the site will be forfeited and released to other guests. Once your reservation start date has begun, neither the Recreation.gov Contact Center nor the campground manager will be able to modify your reservation. |
